Traffic policy: what promotion is allowed

Each program states which channels partners may use; breaking it can cost commissions.

Published 1 min read

Every program publishes a traffic policy that says whether partners may use:

  • paid search (PPC) and bidding on the vendor's trademarks,
  • email campaigns,
  • coupon and deal sites,
  • social media,
  • incentivised traffic (rewarding people for clicking or signing up).

For partners

Read the policy on the program page before you promote it. Traffic that breaks the policy can lead to rejected commissions, a fraud review or suspension from the program.

For vendors

Set the policy when you create the program. Changing it bumps the program's policy version. You can reject a pending commission with a reason, and report suspected abuse to marketplace support.

Self-referrals (buying through your own link) and several accounts sharing one payout account are detected automatically and reviewed.
